ASSOCHAM GEM recently conducted a virtual site assessment of Bul-Bul Co-operative Housing Society Ltd., a completed residential redevelopment project located in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The project was designed by Sopan Prabhu and Architects and developed by Ashwini Infradevelopments Pvt. Ltd., with sustainability integrated into key aspects of the development.

The virtual walkthrough covered critical green building and sustainability parameters, including the building façade and entrance approach, accessibility provisions, electrical and energy metering, water supply and metering, rainwater and drainage systems, fire safety and evacuation provisions, plumbing and sanitary fixtures, terrace landscaping, and the rooftop solar installation.

The virtual assessment enabled the ASSOCHAM GEM assessors to verify project features and sustainability measures in real time, with the on-ground project team providing a live walkthrough of the relevant areas. This approach demonstrates how virtual green building assessments can provide an efficient and low-carbon alternative to conventional site assessments while maintaining the required level of verification and rigour.
